Do More With Your CHET Account

You took the first step to prepare for your child's college education when you opened your CHET Account. Don't stop there. Consider making an additional contribution today. Greater contributions now may mean you can actually invest less over the long term to meet your savings goal. This may not be the case if you have negative performance. See how this works.

Consider setting up the Automatic Contribution Plan (PDF, 157KB) or Payroll Deduction Plan (PDF, 45KB). These two options make it easy for you to contribute on a regular basis.

If you are a Connecticut state employee, use the Connecticut State Employee Payroll Deduction form (PDF, 75KB).

And did you know that you can set-up an account for an additional beneficiary and change address or e-mail address online?

Band Roll Confirmations

Account owners that have the Managed Allocation Option and Aggressive Managed Allocation Option will receive confirmation statements when their account beneficiary has a birthday which triggers the movement of funds within these investment options into a more conservative investment mix. As a feature of the Managed Allocation Option and Aggressive Managed Allocation Option a change of investment mix occurs when the account beneficiary reaches a certain age and your investment among equities, bonds and money market funds is automatically moved to a more conservative investment mix. The change reduces your exposure to equities and real estate investments as your beneficiary moves closer to the age of college attendance.

The shift in investment mix within the Managed Allocation Option and Aggressive Managed Allocation Option will be described as a "band roll" on the account statements and confirmations you receive. See the latest statement insert describing the band roll in more detail.
